An important step in maintaining your beautiful smile is keeping regular dental appointments even if you have no symptoms that are concerning to you. Dr. Bridges and Dr. Buckner will recommend what’s best for you, but most people should get a professional cleaning and exam twice a year. If you take good preventative care and problems do arise, treatment is usually simpler and more affordable when problems are caught early during your regular exams.
Cleaning appointments typically last about an hour. During your appointment, we will check for cavities and gum disease, remove plaque and tarter and polish your teeth to remove stains. We will also check any restorations you already have such as bridges or crowns. An oral cancer screening will be completed and x-rays will usually be taken to check for cavities and other issues that occur in areas that can’t otherwise be seen, such as between the teeth and below the gum line.
Dr. Bridges, Dr. Buckner, and the entire team are committed to patient satisfaction and proactive oral health. They’ll take as much time as needed during the appointment to talk about any concerns or questions you have, including anything you are not happy with cosmetically.
